HIAA Conference 2025 | The Rising Tides

Welcome to the HIAA Conference 2025 — The Rising Tide. Join us in the beautiful coastal town of Ullapool for a day of compelling talks and conversations led by some of the most exciting architects working in rural Britain and Ireland today.

Our speakers include Niall Maxwell (Rural Office), Marcus Donaghy and Will Dimond (Donaghy + Dimond), Michael Dillon (AOMD) and Neil Gillespie (Reiach & Hall).

This year’s theme explores how regionalism continues to shape rural identity — and how this identity is expressed through the architecture we design, inhabit, and imagine. Expect a thought-provoking programme that connects place, practice, and people.

After the day’s events, you're warmly invited to the HIAA Ceilidh — an evening of live music, dancing, and celebration lead by Mairearad Green. Tickets and details to be released shortly. Let’s keep the conversation going in true Highland style!
